Position Title: Quality Control Inspector (One 1st shift, One 2nd Shift)

Immediate Supervisor Title: Quality Control Manager

Department: Quality Control

Location: Trafford, PA

Brief Summary of Position Purpose:

The position is responsible for overseeing the quality of both incoming and outgoing products or materials within the company. The primary focus is on ensuring that products adhere to the company's established quality standards and meet safety requirements for customer use. The role involves thorough monitoring and assessment to guarantee the overall quality and safety of the company's offerings.

Essential Functions:

Performs regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.

Rejects all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.

Reads blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.

Measures product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.

Recommends improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.

Documents inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.

Communicates quality control concerns to improve product excellence.

Resolves quality-related issues in a timely manner.

Ensures work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards.

Ensures proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others.

Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.

Follows all company and job-specific safety rules and regulations.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to read blueprints, plans, and specifications.

Strong math, technical and analytical skills with the ability to document and report.

Demonstrated understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.

Proficiency with MS Office and other job-related computer programs and software.

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to document and track inspections.

Ability to collaborate and communicate well with others.

Demonstrated proficiency with the following equipment/tools:

Inspection hand tools

Credentials, certifications & Industry-Specific Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

1-2 years’ experience in Quality Control, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment.

Familiarity with ISO and OSHA principles.

Ability to demonstrate required proficiency level/competency to successfully perform job.

Physical Requirements

Rarely required to sit, standing and walking extensively throughout a shift

Regularly required to walk, stand, reach and bend; talk, hear and see; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects; lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30lbs pounds; regularly twisting and bending.

Frequent requirement to drive (vehicles as well as fork trucks, cherry pickers, and high lifts etc.);use hands and wrists, forearms and grasp for items constantly throughout the day

Constant reaching and stretching.

Requires concentration, accuracy, and focused mental effort while multi-tasking in a fast-paced team environment.

Standard personal protective equipment (PPE) required while on the shop floor or in other work area where mandated (i.e. steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and/or other applicable PPE).
