Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation’s largest gun violence prevention advocacy group, is seeking an Intern for the summer to join and support the office of the Executive Director of Moms Demand Action. The Office of the Executive Director is responsible for all administrative duties that support the principal, including managing the principal’s schedule, coordinating travel, building external relationships, and staffing the principal at events. In this role, the Intern will report to the senior executive assistant and assist in administrative duties to support the principal. Interns are expected to work no more than 20 hours per week and will be based from our DC office.

Responsibilities:

Assist with creating digital and social content for principal’s social media accounts

Assist in internal and external meeting logistics, including collecting meeting material information

Assist in day-to-day tasks for the principal

Research travel options for principal and team

Assist in managing and tracking internal and external correspondence

Assist the team in routine research administrative tasks, as and when required

Interact regularly with Everytown staff across all departments to ensure effective coordination and delivery of research program activities

Assist with other interdepartmental special projects as needed

Note: This is an on-site position in our Washington, DC Office.

The minimum pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student

Lives or is able to relocate to Washington, DC for the summer

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality

Exceptional attention to detail

Willingness to take initiative on projects

A self-starter who is willing to take initiative on projects

Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Excellent judgment and communication skills

Experience and proficiency using Google Suite products like Google Sheets, GoogleDocs, and Google Calendar.

About the Hiring Process

Candidates that advance to the next step of the recruitment process, will be invited to meet with a member of the hiring team for a 30-minute phone interview.

Team Interview - candidates that advance from the phone interview step will meet with 2 other members of the recruitment team for a 30-45 minute virtual interview.

Final Candidates will meet with the Chief of Staff
