What You Will Do Your primary duties will include transcription of clinical correspondence using digital dictation and processing patient results appropriately and timeously.

Additionally you provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service to Consultants and Clinical Teams.

You will also organise Consultants workloads and provide the main point of contact between clinical staff and the service users.

For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job Experience within a Medical Secretarial environment is essential and you should have a relevant secretarial qualification e.g.

AMSPAR Diploma for Medical Secretaries, RSA or Scotvec qualification or equivalent experience.

A working knowledge of the patient management system (Trakcare) and knowledge of medical terminology is essential.

You Will Have Accurate audio-typing skills.

An excellent standard of the English language.

Working knowledge of Microsoft software packages.

The ability to develop an acquired knowledge of medical terminology.

The ability to demonstrate managing time effectively, prioritising workload and being flexible in your approach to working practices.

The ability to to communicate clearly and sensitively with a wide range of disciplines/general public.

Accurate note-taking skills, e.g.

shorthand / speedwriting.

In-depth knowledge of specialist area in order to enhance organisational and analytical skills in response to service demands.

The ability to work in a team environment or on your own initiative.
