Overview of Position and Sample Projects:

AVIXA (Audiovisual & Integrated Experience Association) is seeking a Digital Media Intern to join our Content Delivery team. You will work directly with our content staff and digital product team, focusing on SEO initiatives while learning and assisting with a variety of digital content projects. This internship is best suited for someone interested in digital marketing, content (articles and videos), and/or digital business career paths. Bonus points if you’re passionate about technology (AV or otherwise)!

Projects in this internship would include:

Composing and publishing metadata for our websites

Refreshing content on our websites (primarily AVIXA.org and our community, AVIXA Xchange) to optimize for SEO

Collaborate on content creation, digital publishing and SEO best practices to be shared company wide

Creating content for AVIXA.org as well as for AVIXA Xchange, such as articles

Attending digital product management meetings and composing user stories

Collaborate on initiatives to improve user experience on digital platforms

Assisting the video content team with captioning

Qualifications:

An ideal candidate would have the following qualities:

Highly organized – with minimal direction you are able to keep track of many projects, requirements, communicate progress, note roadblocks

Bonus points for experience working in a project management platform such as Click Up

Ability to manage multiple projects at once – you are comfortable switching between assignments while having the ability to determine priority and make appropriate progress on the most important tasks

Advanced writing skills – you are used to composing content for a variety of needs and audiences and are able to communicate in a way that is easily consumable for your audience

Writing for an audience focused on building technical skills and knowledge a plus!

Curious – a strong desire for continuous learning and proactively identifies opportunities and suggests solutions

Education:

Currently enrolled in 4-year college or university with focus in digital marketing, digital product management, digital content, SEO or related field

Experience Level:

Entry

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with MS Office Suite

Basic understanding of SEO best practices for digital content

Experience with Google Analytics or other digital metrics platform is ideal, not required

Other skills:

Attention to detail

Communication (oral and written)

Sound judgment and problem-solving skills

Professional interaction with all levels of employees and outside contacts

Self-starter

Ability to maintain confidentiality
