Role Description
Reporting to the Director of Construction, this full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Project Manager located in Ottawa, ON. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day tasks related to the installation of mechanical systems on assigned projects. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience within the mechanical construction industry, have excellent communication, organizational skills and be quick to learn and eager to grow within the organization.
Responsibilities
set up all new projects when assigned within the Procore project management system;
creating, managing, and updating the project budget;
creating, managing, and updating the required project construction schedules;
Timely and accurate preparation of all project invoices and progress billing applications in accordance with the Alliance accounting procedures;
complete project procurement requirements;
manage all project quality control / assurance requirements
Provide monthly work in progress (WIP) reports
Schedule and manage labour with the general foreman and foreman for assigned projects within the budget
manage shop drawing submittals and reviews;
communicate all required project related correspondence with vendors, suppliers and field supervision and labour resources;
providing detailed pricing of CCNs as per project requirements using our estimating software;
Manage and scheduling sub-trades
Qualifications
Technical knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems
Previous experience in MEP project management
Proven track record in procurement and budgeting for mechanical projects
Background in Mechanical Engineering or trade experience in plumbing or sheet metal
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects concurrently
PMP certification is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
Working knowledge of Procore is an asset
Experience in the residential high sector is preferred
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or Equivalent experience
Ability to work in a team environment and work efficiently under little supervision
Benefits
Salary range: $90,000-$130,000 annually
