About the Role

Leading a team of five financial professionals, the Director, Billing & Collections plays a critical role in overseeing Second Nature’s financial health by managing billing processes, optimizing revenue cycles, and ensuring timely collections including driving our auto payment processes and adoption. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial systems and best practices.

Key Job Responsibilities

Billing Management:

Develop and implement billing strategies to maximize revenue generation.

Oversee the billing process to deliver timely and accurate invoices, including invoicing and reconciliation.

Ensure accuracy and compliance with billing regulations and contractual agreements.

Coordinate with relevant departments to gather necessary billing information and resolve billing discrepancies.

Monitor billing metrics and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.

Collections Management:

Develop and implement collections strategies to minimize outstanding balances.

Manage accounts receivable aging and prioritize collection efforts.

Analyze payment trends and implement measures to reduce bad debt.

Drive the auto payment strategy to increase accuracy and adoption.

Provide guidance and support to AR staff.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare regular reports on billing and collections performance for the Executive team.

Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks.

Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and efficiency.

Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline billing and collections processes.

Implement best practices and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.

Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt processes accordingly.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and mentor AR and Billing employees.

Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching.

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Encourage professional development and continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

Proven experience in billing and collections management.

In-depth knowledge of billing regulations, best practices; and revenue cycle management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Netsuite.

Leadership experience with a track record of team building and development.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic and environment.
