Operations Manager

Minimum 5 Years experience as a Operations Manager

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidates should have Operations Management experience with a focus on Continuous Improvement and strong leadership skills.

Requirements of the Operations Manager

(3-5)+ years of experience and success in machine shop / tool & die operations or manufacturing engineering leadership

Bachelor s degree in operations management, business, engineering is highly preferred.

Experience in international business operations is a plus.

Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing principles.

Highly proficient in business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).

Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise

Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes

Must be able to build, maintain and contribute to a team environment.

Leads by example and demonstrates servant leadership.

Responsibilities of the Operations Manager

Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations.

Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.

Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.

Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.

Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.

Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions; commit to plant safety procedures.

Share a trusting relationship with the employees and partner with Human Resources to recruit, manage and develop plant employees.

Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.

Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.

Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed.

Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
