A highly respected (AV-rated) trial law firm in suburban Washington seeks a Maryland associate attorney with 1 - 3 years of criminal defense experience. A successful candidate will have trial experience, and strong interpersonal, advocacy, and writing skills. Our firm has a team of trial-proven attorneys with experience in successfully defending a wide variety of DUI and criminal cases. The successful candidate will be mentored by colleagues who always achieve the best possible outcome for our clients. $90,000 + commissionResponsibilities:

Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs

Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies

Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings

Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff

Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motionsQualifications:

Ability to use Microsoft Office is required

Must be a member of your local bar association - active member preferred

Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis)

Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years a plus

Decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must

Over 3 years of experience representing clients in a law firm.

Bilingual is a plus
