The Lab Clerk is responsible for test data entry, creation of material certifications, creation of the Cut Samples List, production data entry, electronic and/or manual filing of test sheets and any other tasks as assigned by the Lab Manager. They are also responsible for general cleanliness and orderliness of their work area. The Lab Clerk is also responsible for any other task as assigned by management. All tasks must be completed with a “Safety First” mind-set.
Tasks and Assignments:
Test Lab data entry to support and create material certifications (MS Access):
Compression set results
Ball Rebound results
Burn and smolder test results
Other handwritten results as needed
Import data from Universal Test Machine to test results database as needed
Material Certifications (MS Access & Adobe Reader):
Prepare certifications first thing every morning
Cut Samples List (MS Access & MS Excel):
Complete for review with Lab Manager by 1:30pm
Verify priority testing with Scheduling / Floor supervisor before review
Confirm priority testing with Lab Manager and/or Plant Manager
Maintain test data manual / electronic filing on a daily basis
Production yield report data entry (MS Access)
Auditing of high scrap items to verify accuracy
Review with Floor supervisors and/or Lab Manager
Other tasks as assigned

Candidate Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
Excellent safety and attendance history
Must be computer literate
Ability to clearly communicate in English verbally and in writing
Ability to use a calculator for basic calculations such as density, compression set, etc.
Ability to operate a computer and access computer interface as needed
Ability to interpret test specifications and instructions
Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner
Includes following instructions/priorities as directed in writing or verbally
Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers, and exercise tact and discretion, especially when contact involves sensitive or confidential data
Knowledge of 5S Principles is a plus
