Boat Yard Manager

Job Description:

You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the boatyard's daily operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality management of boats and vessels. You will work closely with our team to provide top-notch services to our valued customers and maintain the facility's reputation as a trusted maritime destination.

Key Responsibilities:

Boat Yard Operations: Manage all aspects of the boat yard's daily operations, including hauling, launching, and storage of boats. Ensure that all work is performed safely and efficiently.

Customer Service: Interact with customers to assess their needs, provide estimates, and offer expert guidance on boat maintenance, repair, and storage services. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Staff Management: Supervise and train a team of skilled technicians, dockhands, and maintenance personnel. Allocate work assignments, set performance expectations, and monitor staff performance.

Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that all boat maintenance and repair work meets or exceeds industry standards and customer expectations.

Budget Management: Develop and manage the boat yard budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation, cost control, and profitability. Report on financial performance regularly.

Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the boat yard, ensuring a safe and organized working environment for both staff and customers.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, including the proper disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to marina policies.

Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of supplies, parts, and equipment necessary for boat yard operations. Work with ships store to order and manage inventory efficiently.

Marketing and Promotion: Work with the marketing team to promote boat yard services, attract new customers, and enhance the marina's reputation within the boating community.

Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and incidents involving boats, personnel, and the facility.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience in boat yard or marina management, including staff supervision.

Strong knowledge of boat maintenance and repair practices.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards in the maritime industry.

Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Proficiency in using relevant software applications for inventory management and budgeting.
