Job Purpose:

Assisting the Tax and Compliance Manager with smaller tax returns.

Custodian for company secretarial tasks and support with company law requirements across the MEA Entities.

Working with the Tax and Compliance Manager to ensure overall compliance and adherence to all the tax regulations whilst monitoring the tax dashboard and tax reporting of the DMG Events entities.

Play a crucial role in supporting our Compliance team.

Key Accountabilities:

Inspect Sales and Purchase tax invoices are valid from a VAT perspective and comply with VAT rules.

Prepare VAT returns and payments and ensure submission is completed.

Prepare WHT returns and other domestic tax returns, payments, and documentation such as WHT certificates.

Provide support with the development of VAT reporting automation tool in PowerBI.

Maintain the Finance SharePoint folder for record-keeping.

Liaise frequently with local tax agents and internal stakeholders on tax queries.

Support with month-end closing (posting journal movements, provisions etc.) based on the published monthly timetable.

Ensure all POs process is done and reconcile back to the EL in a timely manner.

Support with the preparation of Corporate Tax returns and reconciliations.

Constantly read through new publication(s) regarding Tax or local regulatory.

Complete with month-end reconciliations and tax journal posting to the Balance Sheet so that it is cleared.

Support with preparation of UBO details, ESR regulations and other company compliance requirements.

Ad-hoc support with company secretary compliance.

Ensure all annual Trade license, VAT Refund Certificates are renewed timely.

Support with setting up of new projects, company formation and banks accounts maintained.

Manage the folders for all board meetings, arrange meetings, documents are signed off and save

Technical and Functional Experience:

An Accounting/Business or Finance Degree is advantageous

1 - 2 years’ experience in Tax & Compliance and general understanding of bookkeeping and reconciliations

Must have interest in Taxation or building a career in tax

Intermediate Excel skills
