Responsibilities

REI Systems is seeking a talented data modeler to assist with analyzing, designing, and implementing information solutions. As a data modeler, you will be working closely with subject matter experts, business analysts, UX/UI designers, and DBAs, as well as data, business, and solution architects to capture business requirements in logical data models, to transform these models into physical data models, and to generate database scripts. To ensure success as a data modeler, you should have an in-depth knowledge of relational data modeling tools and methods, including 3NF, experience with forward and reverse engineering, and excellent verbal communication and writing skills, and very familiar with BPMN. You should be able to examine a business process and detail a logical data model diagram with the appropriate entities, attributes, and relationships. You should also be able to write rich, informative, grammatically correct definitions for all entities, tables, attributes, and columns. You work to reduce data redundancy, enhance data integrity, streamline data movements, and improve overall enterprise information management.

Analyze and translate business requirements into conceptual and fully detailed logical data models.

Create logical data models based on existing applications and databases.

Review the existing data models and update as needed.

Implement and Maintain data dictionary, data model across multiple interdependent systems.

Contribute to ongoing updates to data modeling standards and guidelines.

Work with business architects, data architect, data stewards to capture business requirements in a Logical Data Model.

Contribute to assessing the appropriate data platform(s) for solutioning efforts.

Evaluate implemented application databases for variances from standards.

Evaluate physical data models to ensure they align to the corresponding logical data models.

Works closely with other architects, DBAs, development teams, security, and operations staff, etc.

Works on either database or application-level development during the lean hours when not performing data modeling.

Works in an agile development environment to deliver models quickly not to impede development and reincorporate changes to model and help developers carry the changes to their program units in the build and release environment.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience with data modeling with Oracle database

Expert in data modeling experience (Conceptual, Logical, Physical/ERD) using proven techniques and modern tools (e.g., erwin Data Modeler and erwin Model Mart).

Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.

5+ years of experience writing Queries, acquiring data from primary and secondary data sources, and maintaining databases.

5+ years of database development and troubleshooting skills and ability to work closely across multiple teams and vendors to ensure successful releases and enterprise scale data migration.

5+ years of experience designing, developing, and managing enterprise-level databases using Oracle.

Experience implementing large-scale solutions that empower business data and enterprise data integration using Oracle.

Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or other related field.

Clearance: FDA Public Trust clearance must be obtainable

Location: Hybrid - locals to DMV area highly preferred.
