Calculating sheet metal layouts:

Using mathematical skills to calculate the proper sizes and angles of sheet metal pieces to ensure they fit together correctly.

Marking and scribing:

Precisely marking cutting lines and reference points on the sheet metal using tools like scribers, dividers, and squares.

Developing templates:

Creating templates for complex shapes or repetitive components to ensure consistency in fabrication.

Material selection:

Choosing the appropriate gauge and type of sheet metal based on project requirements.

Operating fabricating machinery:

Using power tools like shears, brakes, and rolls to cut, bend, and form the sheet metal according to the layout.

Fitting and assembly:

Checking the fit of fabricated parts and assembling them into the final product.

Quality control:

Inspecting completed work for accuracy, proper fit, and surface finish.

Safety compliance:

Adhering to safety protocols and procedures while working with sharp tools and heavy machinery.
