The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets globally) is seeking to hire a Leasing Contract Manager to join the Legal Department, based in our Corporate office located in Central, Hong Kong. This role will be responsible for handling tenancy documentation from the Group's properties and provide advice to the Group’s subsidiaries on tenancy related matters.

Key Accountabilities

Provide advice to The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Repulse Bay Complex, the Peak Complex on tenancy related matters to ensure that concluded terms are in compliance with the Group’s standard tenancy provisions and arrangements

Draft and review all tenancy related documentation for selected operations including Letters of Intent, Tenancy Agreements, Licence Agreements, Surrender Agreements and paying particular attention to special clauses and arrangements

Assist and provide advice to property's leasing teams to handle customer complaints on tenancy matters and liaise with external advisers on possible courses of action and provide advice on litigation and potential litigious matters

Check compliance with the Landlord and Tenant (Consolidation) Ordinance and other relevant laws and regulations to ensure all registration and formalities are properly complied with the course of tenancy renewal and new letting negotiations

Manage one subordinate on preparing tenancy related documents and correspondence

General Requirements

Diploma or tertiary education in legal studies or related disciplines

Minimum 4 years’ experience in real estate industry or law firm serving property developers on commercial and residential tenancy matters

People management experience is advantageous

Good command of written and spoken English

Proficiency in PC applications including Word and Excel

Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

Well-organized, strong problem-solving skills and adaptive to change

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
