Design Department Coordinator

LifeFormations specializes in the design and fabrication of animatronic figures, sculpted elements, exhibits and interactive experiences. Our work can be found in leading theme parks, museums, science centers, and branded spaces all over the world.

Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing, managing, and documenting all aspects of design and production of assigned projects.

This role is to ensure the assigned projects exceed all industry standards, product quality with detailed organization, in addition to helping find workflow efficiencies and improve communication.

The Project Manager will monitor and ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Experience: 2-5 years of coordination in a design/production company.

Design Coordinator Job Description

The Design Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Design Team and Director of Engineering in overseeing, managing, and documenting all aspects of design for projects.

This role is to ensure the design team follows consistent standard practices with detailed organization, in addition to helping find workflow efficiencies and improve communication.

The Design Coordinator also supports scheduling, communication and data transfer between Design Team and the 3D Printing Department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Scheduling design tasks and designers

Compile and manage design documentation.

Coordinate design reviews.

Compile Design Books for Production

Overseeing outsourcing of design tasks

Acts as a consistent point of contact for PMs and Production

Establishes meetings with agendas and follow up notes.

Creates and manages lists of open decision items and timetables.

Oversees client approved assets and milestones for Design.

Tracks Design hours per projects, elements, and tasks.

Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

Displays excellent communication and organizational skills.

Scheduling and loads management of the 3D Printing Department.
