Position: Estimator

Reports to: Estimating Manager

Location: Columbus, OH

Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000

We take into consideration a number of factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.

The Superior Group is seeking an Estimator who will be responsible for interpreting drawings, reading specifications and do takeoff on certain items. The ideal candidate must have the willingness to learn new technology and estimating software, have strong technical and communication skills, and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Reading and understanding of contract drawings and project specifications

Produce quantity takeoff of systems from electrical drawings, including lighting fixtures, lighting controls, fire alarm devices, and several other systems

Assist in vendor management and QA estimates

Coordinate and support internal teams to ensure alignment of scope

Visit our various construction job sites to assist with field investigations, drawing verification, and understanding practical field installation requirements

Works closely with the project management team on change order pricing

Your Expertise

Required: You have 1-5 years of experience in the construction industry

Bonus Points: If you have earned an associates or bachelors degree in construction management or a related field

Bonus Points: If you have experience in electrical construction

Bonus Points: If you have experience using Accubid and/or Bluebeam

Your Character Traits

You’re very organized, great at prioritization, and have a strong attention to detail

You’re a team player and feel comfortable collaborating with colleagues across all levels of the organization

You have a an analytical mindset and understand how to problem solve

You have the ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and the willingness to learn new processes

You’re able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information
