Infrastructure Administrator

GeneDx is a patient-centered technology company seeking an onsite service desk analyst to support IT operations within our Gaithersburg, MD, New York City, Stamford, CT offices.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor who supports multiple teams our IT and engineering organizations. You will partner closely with IT Engineering leads and engineers to determine the best features and technology to deliver improved outcomes and features to our shared internal infrastructure. You will often also work with stakeholders in our business teams for commercial and operations deliverables to ensure you understand the fundamentals of our company goals to provide value to all of our customers. You will be directly supported by Head of IT Infrastructure.

With our IT and engineering colleagues, you will work to ensure your peers are able to complete their objectives when they rely upon shared infrastructure. Your role is to Identify, Plan, and Execute solutions presented to you. Your team will value you for your experience, foresight, and ability to anticipate challenges and work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, infrastructure tools, servers, and hardware devices.

Perform server administration tasks, including Windows and Linux security permissions, Windows OS security policies.

Assist Infrastructure Engineer team with enterprise OS patching.

Plan, schedule, and deploy firmware maintenance code and replace infrastructure hardware.

Develop and maintain useful documentation for on-premises infrastructure.

Run archive requests from manual tapes, external disks, and mechanical tape library repositories.

Transfer and upload application data to GeneDx application owners.

This position requires you to be on premises at our GeneDx Gaithersburg LAB.

Competencies

Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the professional level.

Education and/or Experience

College degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Naturally curious and assertive problem solver, (IPE) identifies a problem, creates a plan, and executes the plan successfully.

Expertise with on premise enterprise infrastructure design and support Windows & Linux servers.

Comfortable working within virtualized environments: VMware, RedHat, and Proxmox.

Comfortable working with end users and services desk team members for Tier 3 support.

Expertise in designing and monitoring SLA’s for critical infrastructure tools.

Pay Transparency, Budgeted Range

$37.50—$50 USD
