Position Summary

The Senior Research Specialist works on the I PROMOTE IL Program in the Two-Generation Clinic. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of broader health issues and support networks specific to the participant population and management, oversight, and staff training.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assists with the management and oversight of staff who will conduct research interviews, screenings, and assessments in English or Spanish to determine the health, mental health, substance use, and social determinants of health needs of mothers and their children in the Two-Generation clinic.

Documents data collected in the EHR and REDCap as part of the research protocol. Manages and oversees the data collection of staff.

As part of the research data collection and intervention protocol, I will provide and assist with the supervision of the research-based psychoeducation, case management, coordination, and brief intervention services based on the identified needs (health, mental health, substance use, and social determinants of health) of participants. This will include referral to other service providers and resources, follow-up, and monitoring.

Provides coordination of resources and referrals in the Two-Generation Clinic.

Serves as an interdisciplinary team member and contributes expertise on participant health status.

Supervises staff to ensure the path to clinical social work licensure is completed.

Other special duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in social science preferred.

A minimum of 5 years related research experience.

Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in social science
