Role Overview:

As our Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing various accounting functions to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. Collaborating closely with the CFO, you will also provide support on treasury and tax compliance matters, contributing significantly to the overall financial well-being of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to ensure the efficient operation of the accounting department and foster collaborative relationships with other departments.

Oversee daily transactional aspects of banking, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.

Ensure accurate and timely posting of manufacturing-related transactions to the general ledger, implementing proper cut-off procedures at month-end.

Document, monitor, and update accounting policies to maintain compliance and best practices.

Review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments, analyzing costs and profits to optimize financial performance.

Track key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and generate ad-hoc reports as needed to support decision-making.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date online filing systems for easy access to financial records.

Conduct internal audits of processes and transactions, assisting with external audits to ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.

Qualifications:

CPA certification.

Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Financial Controller in a medium to large-sized organization.

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.

Hands-on experience with payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.

Proficiency in daily cash management practices.

Expertise in NetSuite or similar ERP systems.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.

Compensation:

CA$115,000/yr - CA$135,000/yr
