If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a HazMat Transportation Compliance Analyst.

As a HazMat Transportation Compliance Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our organization meets all regulatory requirements related to the transportation of hazardous materials. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough reviews of transportation procedures, documentation, and practices to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including but not limited to the Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

You Will:

Act as the primary Dangerous Goods (DG) / HazMat Shipping SME on site for all domestic & int’l ship modes

Oversees the company’s internal DG program, its policies and standard operation procedures

Ensure policies and procedures are followed to ensure the company’s compliance with DG Material Handling (including receipt, storage, disposition (including disposal)) and Transportation regulations, which include federal, state, local and international regulations

Train employees on DG requirements and safety procedures and policies

Work with the Lucid Logistics, Transportation, Service and EHS teams, to coordinate training, certification, and re-certifications for personnel on site who handle DG goods

Promote safety understanding and lower exposure and incident rates

Identify and classify DG products

Provide tactical guidance and support to the facilities on the packaging, labeling, documentation, and shipping of DG items

DG Marking, Labeling, Placarding

Dangerous Goods Transportation documentation

Perform site audits

Provide guidance regarding appropriate packaging and labeling to ensure compliance with regulations

Partner and build strong relationships with internal customers to drive and influence compliance

You Bring:

Self-motivation and strong self-initiative, with critical attention to detail and deadlines

A strong individual contributor who can work with minimal oversight and direction

High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others; Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Excellent verbal and written communication skills working across all levels of an organization

Computer proficiency in MS

A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

Certified in Dangerous Goods requirements for DOT, IATA, ADR/RID, IMDG

Experience with Lithium-Ion batteries is a plus

3+ years of related work experience

Must have working experience in dangerous goods management pertaining to the handling and transport (all modes – surface, ocean, air), including a working knowledge of US DOT, IMDG, IATA/ICAO, EU ADR/RID, and Canada TDG regulations

Experience includes a practical application of the regulations and working directly with the appropriate regulator
