Position Summary

This position will assist with a community-based research project to implement a family-based HIV prevention program for Black girls and their male caregivers (IMAGE). Duties primarily focus on partnering with community-based organizations and presenting research to retain Black girls and male caregivers in IMAGE.

This position contributes to the design and delivery of research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute and interpret research projects. Performs complex data collection and study methods.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Principal Investigator and researchers to develop objectives and design of research projects and proposals.

• Formulate and conduct research studies and analyses. Performs complex data collection and study methods. Analyze and evaluate research results.

• Research and identify eligible families for the IMAGE project.

• Present research information to families of the IMAGE project.

• Request permission to release families contact information to the research team.

• Foster working relationships with community-based organizations.

• Collect participant data, guaranteeing complete and accurate records.

• Test, customize and implement new methods and procedures by assisting with recruitment strategies.

• Documentation of comprehensive protocols to refine and add new research approaches based on project needs.

• Complete required training modules (CITI IRB, HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability)

• Act professionally in all capacities (i.e., dress, behavior, and attitude)

• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.

• A minimum of 3 years related research experience.

• Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social science, health, nursing, or public health.

• Nursing, mental health, public health, or medical background experience.

• Teaching and/ or working with adolescents and adults in a youth agency setting experience.

• Knowledge of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention.

• Works independently and collaborated with others.
