Responsibilities

Account for all aspects of the company's accounting, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, processing journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing budgets and forecasts, and filing taxes.

Close the books at the end of each month, posting all journal entries, reconciling all accounts, preparing a trial balance, and closing the accounts.

Record all journal entries, recording sales, recording expenses, recording depreciation, recording bad debts, and recording other adjustments.

Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, reconciling the bank statement, reconciling the accounts receivable ledger, reconciling the accounts payable ledger, reconciling the asset ledger, and reconciling the liability ledger.

Oversee the accounts receivable department, reviewing invoices for accuracy, sending out statements, and following up on delinquent accounts.

Oversee the accounts payable department, reviewing invoices for accuracy, approving payments, and issuing checks.

Process payroll, calculating wages and salaries, withholding taxes, and issuing paychecks.

Process credit card payments, updating the credit card register and reconciling the credit card statements.

Review the general ledger accounts to ensure that all transactions have been posted correctly.

Close the books at the end of the year, preparing a balance sheet, preparing an income statement, preparing a statement of cash flows, and preparing a statement of changes in equity.

Possess working knowledge of the company's fixed asset system.

Ensure that the company is in compliance with all insurance regulations.

Requirements

A Bachelor degree is preferred but open to any education pending experience.

2+ years of experience in General Accounting.

Any working industry would apply; Construction, Land Management, General Contracting and/or Professional Services would be ideal.

Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite; Proficient in Excel functions and formulas.

QuickBooks experience in preferred.
