Mama Fatma Turkish Cuisine is a well-known restaurant in the Greater Toronto Area that provides an authentic Turkish culinary experience, using traditional Turkish recipes and fresh ingredients.

We are currently looking to hire one (1) experienced full-time (30-40 hours per week) Turkish Cuisine Sous-Chef. The Sous-Chef will be primarily responsible for day-to-day kitchen operations, and supporting the Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities according to Turkish cuisine and culture, as well as halal food standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Direct daily operations of the kitchen.

- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to the cooking staff.

- Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen staff.

- Prepare and cook meals, particularly Turkish specialty dishes.

- Introduce and teach cooking staff new culinary techniques and equipment usage.

- Provide guidance to cooks on food preparation, cooking methods, and food presentation.

- Supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and adherence to standards.

- Manage the procurement of food and kitchen supplies as needed.

Requirements:

- Work experience: Must have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in cooking authentic Turkish cuisine

- Language: English

- Education: Not required

- Have deep knowledge of Turkish cuisine and culture

- Have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

- Have the ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff

- Start date: As soon as possible
