Services are available to more than 196,000 veterans living in a 53-county area of western Tennessee, northern Mississippi, and northwest Arkansas

WHAT WE OFFER:

• $55.00 Hourly

• Additional $4.57 hourly (up to 40 hours per week) to supplement Health Insurance Premiums &/or 401a retirement account

• Travel Stipend (non-taxable) $1,344.0 per week (commute must be greater than 50 miles)

• 5-day work week Mon - Fri

• Shifts: 8:00am - 4:30pm & 4:00pm – 12:00am

• No Weekends

• No On-Call

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Requires specific knowledge of cross-sectional human anatomy and its application in spiral, and/or multi-slice computer tomography, inclusive of 3-D reconstruction scans, including drainages, biopsies, and peripheral vascular examinations. Requires specific knowledge and training in the location, appearance, and function of the various major and minor systems susceptible to radiological illumination; to interpret the examination request accurately; to understand the functioning and inter-relationship of the various organs; to use the methods and techniques which will identify organs appearing on the digital display monitor, or on film, and the various stages of the examination to judge the acceptability of the image and/or scan for diagnostic use and to emphasize the aspects of interest to the physician. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Accurately operate a wide variety of imaging equipment to obtain examinations of acceptable quality, utilizing the least amount of radiation to obtain quality imaging for diagnosis and localization purposes.

• Prepare contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist that are used in CT, to include CT Angiography and other exams.

• Perform all aspects of CT imaging to include Head, Neck, Chest, Abdomen, pelvis Extremities, 3D Reconstructions of CT, Multi-planar Reformats CT and Angiographic studies when requested and/or when part of a standard procedure.

• Perform ill aspects of CT Interventional Radiography, including Biopsies, RF Ablations, Abscess drainages, cyst aspirations, etc.

• Perform and complete imaging studies within the established guidelines for stat, pre-op, urgent and routine exams.

• Receive and interpret all radiology requests for accuracy, appropriateness; date desired and maintain a thorough knowledge of the ordering process in CPRS (Computerized Patient Recordkeeping System).

• Maintain electronic records and files of exams performed on patients.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree or certificate in a diagnostic radiologic technology program

• Advanced registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R)(CT) certification

• Two (2) years of experience

• Must be familiar with 64 slice CT equipment (facility uses GE Discovery)

• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association

• Computer literate and proficient with MS Office products

• Ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently

• Must be able to work holidays if necessary

• Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
