Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, Automation, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in solving complex hardware challenges.
Key Skills and Experience:
Electro-Mechanical Expertise:
Solid background in selecting, assembling, and troubleshooting motors, motor controllers, and other electro-mechanical components.
CAD Proficiency:
Mastery of 3D CAD systems, such as FreeCAD or OpenSCAD or equivalent, along with experience in negotiating version control with multiple contributors on large assemblies.
Technical Drawing and GD&T:
Familiarity with technical drawings and a commitment to good Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices.
Prototyping Skills:
Proficient with common mechanical prototyping tools and processes, including mills, lathes, 3D printers, etc.
Engineering Analysis:
Proficiency with one or more engineering analysis tools, such as Simulation, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Python, Matlab, etc.
Teaching and Growth Mindset:
Enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring others, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment. Open to personal and professional growth beyond the immediate technical discipline.
