Project Management:
Prepare installation plans, schedules, and coordinate deliverables.
Act as the designated project leader for smaller scale developments.
Identify project criteria and requirements, managing overall execution.
Documentation:
Create documentation deliverables for robotic system installation.
Simulation and Evaluation:
Support or perform simulation studies for robotic applications.
Perform robot system evaluation checks and buyoffs.
Technical Tasks:
Perform robot programming in both online and offline scenarios.
Perform robot configuration and setup in both online and offline scenarios.
Coordinate the activity and confirm the work of robot programming contractors.
Attend equipment specification and design reviews, providing technical advice.
Electrical Systems:
Design, implement, and document electronic systems.
Contribute to the technical design and development of components and equipment.
Participate in hardware design process design, reviews, and testing.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Evidence of consistent hands-on electrical system design experience through internships or undergraduate research.
Communication Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Digital Circuit Design:
Experience in digital circuit design outside of a classroom setting.
Evidence of circuit design and PCB layout; knowledge of Altium Designer is a plus.
Sensor and Protocol Familiarity:
Familiarity working with sensors through various protocols (CAN, TCP/UDP, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.).
Programming and Control:
Experience programming microcontrollers and exposure to FPGAs.
Experience with brushed and brushless motor controller design.
Experience with motion controllers and mechatronics.
Battery Design and Integration:
Experience with custom smart battery design and development.
Electromechanical Systems:
Experience with electromechanical systems integration through group projects, internships, or undergraduate research.
Experience selecting electrical components at both the PCB and system level.
Prototyping and Understanding:
Experience prototyping circuits, PCB assembly, and rework.
Cursory understanding of the impacts of mechanical requirements on an electrical system (thermal, mounting, maintenance, etc.).
Adaptability and Passion:
Eagerness to work in a dynamic, rapid design, prototype, and build environment.
A clear, real passion for robotics and related fields.
