Description:

Independently performs full range of radiographic examinations, including but

not limited to diagnostic, fluoroscopic, and portable images of the skull, chest,

abdomen, spine, upper and lower extremities to patient populations ranging from

newborn to geriatric and demonstrates ability to adjust technical factors when

unusual deviations from standard positioning and technical factors are necessary.

Performs C-Arm and O-Arm procedures as requested, and portable x-ray

examinations using a portable x-ray machine.

Possesses knowledge of Computed Radiographic (CR) and Digital

Radiographoic (DR) equipment/processors, including but not limited to: General

Electric (GE), Phillips, Shimadzu, Carestream, Fuji, etc.

Possesses knowledge and experience of basic medical care, anatomy and

physiology and radiation protection measures for self and patients.

Assists Radiologists with fluoroscopic and other special radiographic exams,

which require the administration of contrast materials, including but not limited to

linear tomographies, upper/lower GI studies, cystographies, arthrographies, and

hysterosalpingography.

Examinations/Procedures

Evaluates technical factors that are age/exam appropriate and adjusts to patient

populations that may have abnormal body habitus/physical presentations.

Consults with supervisors, lead techs, and/or QC tech in any unusual patient

orders/exams.

Receives patients and changes them out of their clothing and into appropriate

gown/shorts, as necessary.

Explains method of procedure, positions patients, selects and sets technical

factors, sets-up and adjusts accessory equipment as required, and makes exposures

necessary for requested procedures while limiting the number of repeated

exposures.

Utilizes critical thinking and sound judgement when unusual deviations from

standard positioning present themselves.

Ensures all radiographs demonstrate the required anatomy for dictation by

Radiologists and performs follow-up films independently.

Equipment/Supplies

Sets-up the x-ray room, and assures that sterile supplies, procedure trays,

contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment are present and laid out.

Utilizes Digital Imaging Network and Picture Archiving Communication

System (DINPACS) to process images.

Creates orders in hospital system elect and ensures images are entered into

PACS.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Completion of the following:

Graduate from an accredited program or military equivalent program in order to meet the education requirements established for the certification(s) listed below.

Certifications: in addition to Basic Life Support from A.H.A. or A.R.C.

HCW shall have and maintain a current American Registry or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification as a Rad Technologist.

Experience:

HCW shall have a minimum of one (1) year experience within the last five (5) years providing services as a certified Rad Technologist. HCW personnel shall have a minimum of one (1) year experience within the last five (5) years in the use of a C-Arm within an Operating Room (OR), and possess knowledge general OR procedures including vascular, orthopedic, urology, GI and Motor Tolerant Subtraction (MTS).

Licensure/Registration:

HCWs shall have and maintain a current Medical Radiologic Technologist license.

Security:

National Background Investigation. You must clear Military Security.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Must have reliable transportation to and from work site

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
