Automation Engineer (Entry)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

- IT application operations experience

- IT application integration experience (e.g., REST APIs)

- Solid Linux skills

- Basic enterprise IT network know-how, including network security (firewalling)

- Container-based application virtualization experience (Docker)

- Programming skills (preferred: Python)

- ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)

- Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience with firewall rule management tools (preferred: Tufin)

- Experience with IT orchestration & automation solutions (e.g., Rundeck, Ansible)

- Skills in further programming languages (e.g., JavaScript)

- Operational Management duties such as long-term planning to create initiatives that further the overall goals

- Self-starter

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Strong ability to understand and interpret business needs and requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation

- Agile working methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)

- Experience in IT provider steering

- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues/users

- Proper release management process and procedure knowledge

- Willingness to deal with (talk to) our customers, who may be foreign, and navigate language barriers

- Ability to work as part of a team, interdependently as well as independently, and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality

- Ability to handle any situation and work under pressure

WHICH QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE DO WE NEED FOR THE ROLE?

- IT Degree and/or relevant qualifications / 1 year+ of experience

- Linux Administrator knowledge

- Programming knowledge

- Basic enterprise IT network know-how, including network security (firewalling)

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES?

- Development and maintenance of the Firewall rule management platform/application

- Alignment with stakeholders (technical requirements as well as process or IT security governance requirements)

- Go-live preparation and post go-live support

- Problem, Change, & Incident Management

- Applications Operations support and other operational support as required

- Implement and maintain internal controls that mitigate business risk while complying with policy and procedures

- Flexibility in terms of taking up different tasks within a project or work

- Willingness and ability to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time international

- Proactively propose solutions to improve the support of (new) business processes

- Create and update management and technical documents in Confluence

- Standby, shift work, and public holiday work required from time to time

- Documenting known errors and resolutions in the solution database

- Preparing User/How-to Manuals and conducting training for other team members
