Optician/ Lab Technician

About us: Sands Eye Care is the newest eyecare facility in New Providence.

We provide eye examinations and full optical services.

We are founded on a more modernistic approach to health care; specializing in providing first class eyewear!

Overview: You will be responsible for the production of the glasses made in our office, using state of the art equipment.

This means you will be cutting and inserting the lenses into frames daily.

This job will also involve frame repairs and laboratory inventory maintenance.

Expectations: Requires ability to sustain lengthy periods of visual concentration and good hand/eye/foot coordination.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment.

Have the ability to focus for long periods of time Have an eye for attention to detail and symmetry Have solid dexterity and mechanical skills Patience to fully see the task through is a must Honest, dependable and be able to follow directions either written or verbal Ability to communicate with other associates in a clear, concise manner Professional demeanor Position is responsible for producing customized eyeglass wear, shipping, receiving, tracing, and staging of all customer frame and lens orders.

Shape lenses appropriately so that they can be inserted into frames.

Assemble eyeglass frames and attach shields, nose pads, and temple pieces, using pliers, screwdrivers, and drills.

Prior experience in health care/ optical is not required.

Training will be provided for position.
