We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer and Architect to support a NASA contract.

This position is available for remote work.

Job description: Design, develop, operationalize, and maintain a scalable architecture for an Agency-wide data sets, including normalizing the data for time periods and across various source systems to meet common dashboarding needs.

Serve as a subject matter expert in development of data visualization that produce efficiencies in replication of existing reports while also helping to ideate a future state for enhanced decision making.

Position Responsibilities: * Design, enhance, and manage business intelligence solutions built on the Power BI platform.

* Document architecture of data and technologies including: * Data pipelines.

* Processes required to successfully merge and analyze discreet data sets that resides in a myriad of locations and complexity from agency-wide data platforms to desktop created Excel files.

* Utilize existing technology available to the agency while communicating rationale for costs and technology investments to provide Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS) functionality across multiple locations and organizational groups.

* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, identify existing processes and data sources, and provide recommendations.

* Create visualizations and reports; meet customer expectations and support them in their decision-making processes.

* Create and implement a data security plan into the product architecture and utilizing agency provided tools.

* Participate in discussions to explain ideas, challenges, and solutions as a peer collaborator with stakeholders, project management, and project team members.

* Teach and mentor other PowerBI team members to advance the community-wide skills.

* Proven experience as a BI Developer with expertise in Microsoft Analytics Technologies (Power BI, Azure). * Background in data architecture, warehouse design, and data visualization.

* In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.

* Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, SAP BI). * Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). * Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

* Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.

* Excellent communication, both written and verbal; listening first to understand and then to be understood.

* High-performing collaboration skills; must be a team player.

* Outstanding proactive customer service with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to * Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC.

Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education & Experience: * Bachelors degree in relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

* 5+ years experience with analytics strategy and architecture.

* 3+ years experience in Power BI development on an enterprise-level.

* Experience developing with KPIs, executive reporting, access controls with Power BI roles.

* Operationalization of PowerBI experience across an enterprise is critical.
