Morgan Stanley seeks a professional to join the Expense Team as an associate. The Expense Associate will work closely with all levels of field management to ensure T&E expense activity submitted by field advisors and branch personnel, have been appropriately reviewed and approved using various internal systems. The Expense Associate will report directly to the Expense Approval Manager. The Expense Associate will interact with the field and internal personnel to resolve issues encountered during the expense review and approval process. Associates are responsible for understanding Firm policies and procedures to allow them to review expense activity accurately and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review and approve T&E expense reimbursement requests primarily for field advisors and branch personnel

Ability to review a high volume of detailed expense reimbursement requests in a fast-paced environment

Provide world-class customer service to both field facing and internal counterparts in all interactions

Ensure all expense requests are handled in a timely and accurate manner; if there are any issues, resolve / escalate on a case-by-case basis

Research and resolve problems and deficiencies in a timely manner

Apply Firm policies and procedures on expense review and approval activity

Proactively participate in available training and education programs to maintain current status on policies, procedures and risk awareness

Provide and receive feedback and suggestions on ways to improve processes that are in place

Apply critical thinking when making decisions on items to evaluate risk and client experience

Other duties and responsibilities as needed

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education experience preferred, or applicable experience in lieu of education will be considered

2+ years of industry experience preferred or desire to be part of the financial service industry desired

Desire to obtain financial licensing, specifically Series 7, 66

Excellent interpersonal and client service skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail and excellent judgement

Exceptional organization and follow-up skills

Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Ability to research and resolve problems and service inquiries and escalate issues where appropriate

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Team player with the ability to collaborate with others

Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
