Infrastructure Engineering Senior Advisor (0251209)

Responsible for engineering and operation of file share systems, replication, object storage, and various other storage components in order to ensure data availability. Works with various solutions including, but not limited to, NetApp, NetApp StorageGrid, EMC ECS, EMC Isilon, Infinidat, Unity, Komprise, and Virtana. Monitors environments and performs trend analysis. Assists in diagnosing (Root Cause Analysis) and correcting NAS and Object Storage problems. Troubleshoots and resolves infrastructure issues based on system architecture, project requirements, and customer expectations. Participates in on-call rotation, acting as the incident owner for after-hours support issues. Responsible for executing change requests for assigned products in compliance with Change Management Policies. Drives in-depth assessment of emerging technologies to determine if their adoption is appropriate for business needs and communicates assessment to the rest of the team. Works with vendors to resolve escalated problem tickets. Supports vendors and partners to troubleshoot issues and find the root cause. Deploys improvements to prevent future issues and outages. Improves applications and infrastructure to enable updates, issues, and maintenance to be performed with minimal or no impact to end-users. Evaluates and provides input on selecting key technologies within the NAS Storage environment. Partial virtual/work from home benefit available.

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and 2 years of IT experience (or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and 5 years of IT experience). Must have experience with: Dell EMC; NetAPP NAS; Infinidat; ECS; StorageGRID; Cisco IOS; Server OS; VMware; NAS and Object Storage environments, structures, and design concepts; and creating and updating detailed environment design, installation, and support documentation.
