REI people rock! We're fun, driven, passionate people. Our front desk, Administrative Assistant is our first point of contact for someone calling or visiting our Sterling location in person. We are looking for our visitors and guests to be greeted by friendly, dependable, customer service oriented individuals. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced, agile environment. The Administrative Assistant facilitates visitors (customers, job candidates, guests, etc.), provides administrative support to REI leadership, monitors and maintains facilities and supplies, plans company events and is a consistent and reliable resource for our employees.

Responsibilities

At REI as an Junior Administrative Assistant, you will:

Provide front office coverage, maintain designated office areas, and answer telephone callsRoute calls to appropriate staff and customer calls for helpdesk support to the designated points of contacts for each contract/program.Order, coordinate, and manage office supplies.Monitor and coordinate maintenance of general office equipment; maintain common use areas.Prepare and circulate general internal correspondence, e-mail messages for general announcements.Sign for and distribute all delivered packages.Provide administrative support to all personnel, management, and corporate departments.Develop, maintain and update documents dealing with administrative procedures and contact directories; organize and maintain paper and electronic files.Coordinate and schedule annual staff meetings, management meetings, and corporate functions and provide necessary support.Research venues and other vendors for the corporate meetings/events; use negotiation techniques for booking them.Maintain and update corporate informational charts/general announcements on official bulletin boardsPerform general duties to include, but not limited to reporting, copying, faxing, mailing and filing.Maintain office calendar to coordinate meetings.May conduct research, compile data and prepare papers for consideration and presentation to the Executive team and staff

Other similar professional duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (specifically MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) and ability to master similar productivity toolsAbility to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and qualityAbility to multi-task and to work under short timelinesAbility to work well in team environment of varying composition, personalities, roles and responsibilitiesProfessional etiquette and ability to interact with professionals and executivesPunctual, consistent and able to meet deadlinesProblem solver with strong ability to work alone in areas of core competence with minimal guidanceWillingness to share information, train and be trained, mentor and be mentored with executives, and peers

Education: Associate and/or Bachelor's Degree.

Certification: Office Management and Administrative Support is a plus.

Location: Monday to Friday in office 9 am to 5 pm Sterling VA office
