State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Opportunity in Greenville, OH

Hospice Aide - Darke County - Full-time role in Darke County and nearby areas - Typical hours: 8:00 am-4:30 pm with weekend and holiday shifts

Hospice Aide - Mercer County - Full-time position in Mercer County and surrounding regions - Standard hours: 8:00 am-4:30 pm with weekend and holiday rotations

Hospice Aide - Float - Full-time opportunity covering all service areas as required - Regular hours: 8:00 am-4:30 pm with weekend and holiday rotations

PRN Hospice Aide - Inpatient Care Center - As-needed role to support the inpatient Care Center - Shifts available: 6:00 am-6:00 pm or 6:00 pm-6:00 am

Responsibilities:

Administer basic medical treatments in accordance with care plans or protocols suggested by a therapist or nurse

Provide assistance to patients performing daily tasks and activities

Monitor and document changes in the patient's physical and mental states

Properly execute infection control techniques

Ensure patient hygiene and safety by maintaining cleanliness

Communicate with patients, family members, and other healthcare staff

Guide patients during rehabilitation exercises and ambulation

Take the patient’s vital signs, such as temperature, heart rate, and respiration

Educate patients and their families on strategies for their care

Identify changes that must be reported to a supervisor

Facilitate any light housekeeping tasks necessary

Respond to potential medical emergencies

Show respect, politeness, and confidentiality during the care process

Aid patients with personal grooming, bathing, and hygiene

Assist with patient transfers and help them walk

Ensure the patient’s nutritional and hydration needs are met

Complete assigned duties and keep up with cleanliness standards

Manage inventory of supplies for patient care and order more as needed

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Must have completed 75 hours of state-approved STNA instruction, which includes combinations of classroom and practical training

No break of more than 24 months between employment as an STNA

Demonstration of competency within the first four weeks of employment

Passing the state-mandated written STNA exam in the first six weeks

Must be registered with the Ohio Aide Registry

At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, with hospice experience preferred
