Compensation: Up to $57/hour plus overtime (10 hours weekly is available) 11 paid holidays, multiple weeks PTO, and full healthcare benefits.

Location: Kent, WA. These positions are 100% onsite at a space rocket facility with some possibility of hybrid work-from-home.

Positions are 6-24 month contract-to-hire opportunities with high possibility to convert to FTE.

Overview:

This role is part of the Safety, Quality, & Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin design, manufacture, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health and safety, product integrity and continuous improvement processes serve the Blue Origin Mission and Vision.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of quality engineers, you will develop and execute commercial quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of engines. Our team is responsible for implementing quality initiatives that will support development and low rate engine production. This position requires a passion for solving sophisticated problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and take ownership; and be adaptable as we work on a variety of applications and systems.

Responsibilities:

Establish, implement, maintain, and carry out quality system processes that support products in development and production environments

Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals

Integrate quality system applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality best practices and communication of quality issues

Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.

Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100

Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs

Recommend initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality

Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test for the Additive Manufacturing team

Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns

Develop and present training materials to build quality awareness

Qualifications:

Mandatory Skills: Minimum of a B.S. in engineering/science or American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification

4+ yearsâ proven experience in the engineering field with at least 3 years in a quality engineer role

Quality Assurance experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferred

Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Engine Assembly QMS knowledge

AS9100 Transitioning products from development to production

Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of aircraft or aircraft engines
