Responsibilities

Based on retained knowledge and proven experience, responsible for the handling of Operation and Sales as required or assigned. Acts as liaison between operations and sales teams to support all new business development activity.

30% Supervise Export Operation

Follow management direction, supervise Export Forwarding Team and give instruction to Export agents effectively. Responsible for account maintenance and operational support of existing accounts. Provide training to lower level employees, by sharing our motto of Punctual Operations and Excellent Customer Service, share operational notices, improve operations and customer services.

20% Communication & Problem Solving

Communicate effectively by demonstrating as supervisor, courtesy and respect in all interactions with internal departments (Warehouse, Sales, Operations, etc.), other branches, and external contacts (air/ocean carriers, trucking and rail companies, vendors or subcontractors).

Make sure the details of error (shipping delay or damage) and facts, reporting to customers in timely manner, find the root-cause and resolve irregularities. Coordinate activities of various entities from pickup to delivery to properly service customers. Visit to customer/facility if manager requested.

20% Sales Support

Acts as liaison between operations and sales teams to support all new business development activity. Set up new operations for new/potential customer, new lane, project cargo and collaborating with Export Department or Sales proactively. Create/update SOP and share the operations to other agents.

10% Transportation Details

In peak season, support agents and handle multiple transportation modes (FCL, LCL, Air, Domestic) simultaneously with fast changing priorities under tight deadlines. Required to correspond with high profile customers and complex shipments, with accuracy, precision and attention to details, and high-quality customer service as a Supervisor. Comply with FMC, AES, TSA, Haz-Mat and other regulatory properly and act as a model for other agents.

20% Sales Duty

Correspond Bidding, create quotation, share the new customer/shipment details to Team Lead or Professional effectively and make sure the progress of the shipment as sales rep. Report irregularity to customers, responsible for Account Receivable, visit customer and provide rates, solution, presentation or news.Sales activity limited to existing accounts and limited number (5-10) new targets

Visit customers from office and back to office after sales activities and share the topics to Manager/Export Agents proactively. Share the sales target, action plan, presentation materials in the sales meeting or with other counterparts proactively

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements, Education, and Experience:

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent

10 plus years of business experience which should include

Experience in sales and marketing preferably in a freight forwarding/logistics business

Good supervisor and organizational skills

Experience in sales staff development and training

Process Improvement

Valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Willingness to travel extensively in Branch

Skill Sets Required:

Strong Operational Background

Ability to participate in direct customer meetings

Ability to manage new business implementation and new account customer service support

Excellent working knowledge of Nippon’s global capabilities and networks

Strong communication skills – both internal and with customers

Sales Activity Expectations:

Established Annual Revenue Target

Weekly Sales Expectations – active sales 1or2 days per week

Update Prospect Management Account list on a weekly basis

New Business Reported and Maintained on a monthly basis

Attend and report sales and account management activity on a weekly basis via direct meeting or conference call

This position will interact with branch colleagues, leadership staff, and office /warehouse personnel. Must be able to work with customers, vendors, and outside organizations.
