Recreation and Wellness is seeking candidates for the Group Fitness Instructor role.
This position will be primarily responsible for fulfilling all duties associated with regular operations of the Group Fitness Program, during their shift. Fitness Class Instructors will instruct students in various fitness classes in the Rec Center Fitness Studio and T/W Fitness Center. Enforce all Fitness Center rules and regulations. Assist with First Aid or CPR as needed. Work scheduled classes. Attend all in-service training programs. Due to COVID-19, instructors are also responsible for producing virtual content in order to provide the classes to our patrons.
Main Responsibilities:
Learn to give accurate instructions
Able to lead groups effective while keeping an eye on individual needs

Providing excellent customer service through interaction with users of these classes
Know and enforce rules based on the Fitness Employee Handbook
Attend all staff orientations and in-service trainings
Attend to any incidents or accidents, record any and all information that is important
Be punctual and conduct yourself in a professional manner
Perform other duties as assigned

Must be a current The College of New Jersey Student
Successfully obtain a complete or renewed CPR, First Aid, and AED training; as well as Group Fitness Class instruction, or a specified certification for a specific class
