Customer Service Agent, Ocean Import Classification: Non-Exempt, Temp-to-Hire Location: Wood Dale, IL (onsite) Working Hours: 8:00 am- 5:00 pm We offer: * A temporary position with the opportunity to learn valuable skills and gain experience in the logistics industry * Competitive pay of $20 - $22 per hour * Periodical performance review with potential raises based on performance * Opportunity to convert to a full-time employee position * A collaborative and supportive work environment.

Overview: A global logistics company is seeking a Customer Service Representative at their Ocean Import operations.

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing import shipments via ocean freight, providing exceptional customer service to clients, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.

In this role, you will gain valuable skills in logistics operations to process the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders as well as provide excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have background in customer service or good communication skills.

No industry (logistics/ freight forwarding) experience is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not are Limited to: * Communicate with clients to gather shipment details and requirements.

* Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of import shipments.

* Prepare and submit documentation for customs clearance and regulatory compliance.

* Track shipments and provide status updates to clients as needed.

* Address and resolve customer inquiries, issues, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

* Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

* Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and industry standards.

* Other duties requested by Management.

Qualifications: * Previous experience in customer service roles and/or excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

* Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
