Job Title: Research Lab Manager Department: Medicine IM Medical Oncology The Immune Monitoring and Discovery Platform (IMDP), housed within the OSUCCC-James Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO), operates as a technological hub that provides comprehensive cell-, tissue-, and molecular-based immunoassays to support and drive innovative immuno-oncology (IO) research.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in laboratory management to lead technical support and resource management for the IMDP.

The Research Laboratory Manager will: * Work closely with fellow leaders of immunophenotyping, imaging, and immunogenomics on technical issues and laboratory operations, including regulatory affairs (IBC, IACUC, IRB, EHS), * Partner with IMDP technology leaders on validation, optimization, and implementation of highly complex state of the art technologies and serve as a subject matter expert on immune monitoring lab procedures, * Be responsible (and/or oversee) for QA/QC on all instruments as well as maintenance agreements and routine service, * Be responsible for access to services, review of usage, and billing, * Supervise and train IMDP technical staff, * Participate in research project planning, design, execution, data collection, analysis and interpretation of results, * Facilitate the purchase of new equipment, and/or obtain quotes from vendors; also ensure the facility is getting discounts for antibodies or other consumables) * Work with the PIIO administration to establish and revise (when necessary) recharge rates for IMDP services, * Participate in routine laboratory maintenance: ordering, stocking of supplies, and other duties as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

* 3 years of relevant experience required.

* Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree (or equivalent in experience) in an appropriate biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.

Preferred Requirements: * Experience with flow cytometry is preferred.

* Knowledge of immunology or cancer biology is preferred.

* Experience with molecular biology and/or cellular biology is preferred.

* Excellent people skills and the ability to work within a team required.

* Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.

* Previous experience with laboratory management is required.

Target hiring range for this position: $62,700 - $83,600 annual salary Location: Biomedical Research Tower (0112) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
