Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary The technician will assist in research performed by the graduates and postdocs in Dr.

Zhang's lab.

The technician's duty is to support the general operations of the lab and to ensure that the Zhang lab members have the support that they need to conduct their research.

Job Description For more information on the lab please visit Primary Duties & Responsibilities * Assist lab personnel with projects and experiments that they need help with, including setting up experiments, running experiments, collecting data, and analyzing the results.

* Help maintain lab equipment and manage lab activities.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.

* Research laboratory experience in synthetic biology or related fields.

* Familiarity with molecular cloning, bacterial cell cultures, and other molecular biology assays.

* Motivation to learn new things; excellent oral and written communication skills; diligence.

* Ability to work independently, communicate with laboratory members, and maintain organized records/reports.

* Basic wet lab skills and knowledge of biological lab instruments.

* General computer skills such as word processing, Excel, etc.

* Use of basic computer programs.

Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.

Grade R04-H Salary Range $16.21 - $21.69 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.

Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
