Machine Operators II know the inner workings of our machines to install, maintain, repair, and operate machinery throughout the warehouse, especially within the Operations Team. They must have a strong understanding of the machines they work with, how they operate safely, and ensure a set quantity and quality adherence standards. Additional training (likely on-the-job) is required in order to prepare a Machine Operator for these machine-specific duties and tasks.
Our Machine Operators will work with mechanical and/or computer-operated equipment. They must be technically inclined and be able to properly utilize tools and machinery. Since problems with machinery may arise, machine operators must be able to analyze situations and find solutions - when possible. All the while, there are strict safety standards in place and these must be met at all times.
As a Machine Operator, you will create a finished product(s) in accordance with our well-written, documented, and standard operating procedures to make rate by packing set quantities, with high-quality standards and efficient production levels. Machine Operators also sets up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This role uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Additionally, it controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

Machine Operator Duties and Responsibilities
Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed, quality, etc.)
Feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines
Test operation of machines periodically
Fix or troubleshoot issues occurring during the shift
Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
Work with others in order to ensure that equipment is in proper working order
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery (as needed)
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
Adhere to safety programs and OSHA compliance for a safe work environment
Follow strict adherence to company operating procedures and standards, including preventative maintenance schedules (as required)
Follow company safety policies and procedures, and encourage others to do the same
Perform periodic checks on equipment and report problems or concerns to management immediately
Performing additional duties as needed
Requirements
Machine Operator Requirements include
High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required
At least 2-3 years of experience as a machine operator
Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.)
Understanding and general knowledge of production procedures
Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
Extended use of fine motor skills to handle small parts, perform quality inspections
Ability to work with your hands to assemble products and materials continuously
A strong desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
A positive, "solutions-oriented" attitude where you don't just raise a red flag, you also bring potential solutions to fix it
