Primary Responsibilities:
Size and prepare specifications for mechanical equipment and systems.
Design materials handling, conveyor systems, crushing and screening systems, dust collection, control systems, chutes, ducts, piping systems, and equipment layouts for heavy industrial environments.
Prepare capital cost estimates, calculate capacities and weights, and develop quantity takeoffs.
Develop designs from conceptual through final stages, verifying mechanical details, and produce accurate construction drawings using CAD and 3D modeling software (Revit or similar).
Prepare project flow sheets, conduct feasibility studies, and create reports.
Coordinate with vendors and multidisciplinary team members.
Ensure attention to detail and accuracy.
Maintain good communication and strong organizational skills to effectively manage time and resources.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
10 to 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
Active P.E. licensure.
Background in minerals, cement, and/or lime industries.
Strong experience in materials handling.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Inventor.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with software such as Belt Analyst, Bulk Flow Analyst, Aggflow, Pipeflow, and Caesar II.
Selfstarter with project leadership experience.
Preferred Skills:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in wet and dry grinding systems.
Knowledge of slurry handling systems.
