Montessori Beginnings in Sandwich, is looking for a teacher to oversee our afternoon program. This fun environment challenges each child and provides materials indoors or out they can enjoy until it is time to go home. The right person will be part of a team that works cooperatively with each other, the Director and Head of School, to ensure the environment, school and children’s goals are supported and achieved; embracing our culture for excellence in teaching.

Qualifications: Experience working with children, particularly those 12 months to 6 years old.

Good written and interpersonal skills are necessary. The teacher possesses the ability to work not only with children, but promote good communication and collaboration with families, administration, and fellow team members. Punctuality and a positive and open attitude toward all is a necessity. Must meet minimum Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care requirements.

Other requirements include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the environment, materials and equipment.

• Be able to get up and down on the floor and lift up to 35 pounds.

• Implement lunch and/or afternoon routines with fellow team members, including vacuuming and laundry.

• Provide superior supervision always.

• Attend all TEAM meetings and scheduled school events.

• Assist in the planning and maintenance of the outdoor environment.

• Provide first aid as needed and complete appropriate forms for families to sign at pick up.

• Comply with all continuing education requirements.

Hours: 20 to 30 afternoon hours per week. Monday through Friday
