Responsibilities:

We seek a creative and talented Graphic Designer to join our New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) team. As a Graphic Designer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's design and production needs. Your primary responsibilities will involve design and execution of creative deliverables, both in print and digital formats, that reflect project goals and creative direction, formatting approved graphics for various sizing and exports, coordinating last-minute graphic requests, and assisting in the production of templates. Additionally, you will be involved in various design-related tasks, including preparing photography for brand use, creating merchandise designs, assisting in asset organization, and collaborating closely with Corporate Communications Leadership to establish and manage the NYBCe brand and visual identity, guidelines, and strategy. Must demonstrate knowledge of design principles and apply best practices in layout, typography, photography, illustration, and digital technologies. Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, WordPress, MS Microsoft, and other design programs.

Graphic Design:

Contribute to design and development of a wide range of enterprise collateral, campaign, digital assets, and other project elements.

Translate direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.

Source, create, or edit appropriate images and graphics to enhance designs.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Proficient in packaging of design files for printers, ensuring all necessary elements are included, and files are of print-ready quality.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, design software and techniques

Communication:

Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audience.

Work to ensure design and content aligns with the NYBCe brand and visual identity.

Liaise with printers or external vendors to ensure accurate production of design materials.

Brand Champion:

Act as the brand’s visual advocate, to help ensure consistency in NYBCe brand and visual identity across platforms and materials.

Help in availability and management of brand assets and templates.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum four years of demonstrated work experience in a related field.

Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) and Canva.

Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.

Attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively, especially under time constraints.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with print production processes and file formats.

Strong knowledge of photography manipulation and editing techniques.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $80,000.00 p/yr. to $90,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
