The Undersea Platform Analysis Group (UPAG), within Maritime Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities and includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy’s top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to the undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA’s decades of support to the SSBN force and/or assist in developing the design requirements for the SSN of the future. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.

SPA has an immediate need for an infrastructure analyst supporting the AUKUS trilateral nuclear powered submarine program. #CJ #IN123

Responsibilities

Analyst will assist government program office, fleet and NAVFAC personnel in identifying infrastructure needs, capitalization timelines and coordination across related international projects. Analyst is expected to coordinate with several supporting program offices to analyze progress and trends towards meeting key program milestones. Position is located in Alexandria,VA with periodic travel likely.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with civil engineering experience

5+ years experience working in logistics or infrastructure, preferably related to submarines

Experience in a NAVSEA program office and/or with NAVFAC, or with similar infrastructure management organization

Strong organizational skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications

Current DoD SECRET clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain Secret while employed with SPA

Desired Qualifications:

Experience supporting a submarine programs

Experience with international/FMS programs

Experience with and knowledgeable of the Navy requirements and program office organizations and processes
