Position: Machine Assembly Technician

Summary/Objective:

As a Machine Assembly Technician, you will provide indispensable technical assistance for a variety of projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met. Your responsibilities will include assembling new machines, sub-assembling equipment, and assisting with Factory and Site Acceptance Tests. This position primarily operates on-site with occasional travel requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assemble pharmaceutical packaging machinery from blueprints, BOM’s and/or verbal instructions.

Ensure order accuracy and completeness, seeking clarification when needed.

Perform adjustments and configurations to optimize machine operation.

Conduct electrical and pneumatic installations for machinery and control cabinets.

Execute and document hardware testing.

Interface with PLC programmer for programming issues.

Complete electrical safety testing in accordance with UL regulations.

Generate electrical documentation.

Analyze and troubleshoot malfunctions during installation at the plant and customer's site.

Assist shipping and receiving with technical issues.

Support during Factory and Site Acceptance Tests.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

FLSA Status:

This is a non-exempt position – overtime pay will be provided for time worked exceeding 40 hours per week.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, with working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 12:00pm and 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Location:

This position is based at our US headquarters.

Travel:

This position requires up to 10% travel, including periodic visits to our German headquarters for training.

Qualifications:

Advanced electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic skills, preferably in the packaging industry.

Prior experience with automation industrial machines and PLC controls.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, and machine specifications.

Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical devices.

Good understanding of cGMP requirements, change control, gown qualification.

Experience with robotics is a plus.

Availability for substantial travel within North America and Germany; a valid driver's license is a must.

Education and/or Experience:

Completed training or apprenticeship as a mechatronics or electro/mechanical technician, or comparable knowledge and skills; an Associate’s degree in a technology field is a plus.

3+ years of relevant experience in automation machine assembly and plant installation.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
