The Shift Manager is responsible in assisting the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager in overseeing AMICI and CARA MIA product quality and operational standards.

The Shift Manager is likewise responsible in assisting the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager in direct marketing efforts and adapting to market conditions, managing and training other managers and staff in the stores, effective management of sales and profitability including the overseeing of the budget and reporting of the results of the day to day store operations.

Operations Management:

Completely understands all Amici and Cara Mia policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs;

Ensures that the store achieves the objectives in sales, profitability, service and quality;

Ensures execution of monthly sales and marketing plan

Food Management:

Ensures that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to Amici’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards by personally inspecting all out-going food;

Ensures that cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas are followed as scheduled

Inventory Management:

Ensures that all food products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures;

Ensures that stock levels for both food and operational materials are maintained properly

Equipment Management:

Ensures that all equipment are kept clean and are in excellent working condition through regular inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventive maintenance schedule

Cash Management:

Maintains control of restaurant’s cash fund and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant’s policies and procedures

Sanitation and Facility Management:

Maintains impressive appearance of facility including its sanitation/cleanliness

Administrative Management:

Prepares all required administrative paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner

People Management:

Adheres and implements Amici Customer Service Training standards at all time;

Covers areas where he/she would be needed especially during the Restaurant’s heavy shift to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations;

Assists in the manning and scheduling of store’s manpower complement as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and objectives for manpower cost are met;

Ensures strict implementation of policies regarding personnel and ensures promptness, fairness and consistency of corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures;

Evaluates the quality, care and morale of the staff and strives to improve these areas through solid communication, care with schedule-writing, work group leadership;

Effectively communicates to management to ensure effective and efficient operations;

Effectively builds trust with staff members and fellow management through clear communication and by providing feedback;

Continually strives to develop staff in all areas of managerial and professional development;

Consistently attends the Amici Manager-in-Training Program;

Adheres and follows the Opening, Mid and Closing Manager’s checklist
