Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, PNP ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The primary role of a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in this practice is delivery of direct pediatric medical management to patients in an outpatient setting.

It will include but is not limited to the following: Comprehensive outpatient medical consultation, examination, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions for patients ranging from newborn through 21 years of age.

Maintenance of routine well visits, vaccinations, and preventative care for patients ranging from newborn through 21 years of age according to organization guidelines.

Rotating on-call after-hours coverage of pediatric medical management issues.

Effective updates through communication and education of referring providers, patients, and family members as appropriate, of medical management plan, clinical progress, and prognosis.

Participate in professional development through education and mentorship of ancillary staff and other allied professionals.

Coordinate and/or participate in integrated specialty and subspecialty consultations and interdisciplinary care conferences as needed.

Participate in the strategic planning, oversight, and quality improvement initiatives of facilities and a variety of programs as directed by the One Community Health.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must have: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) certification - Primary Care preferred - Acute Care acceptable if interested in working in primary care Minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing CA Licensure Current DEA number Current BLS Two-plus years related experience preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job; Knowledge of pediatric primary care principles and practices; Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration in the context of pediatric care; Ability to perform pediatric medical examinations using standard medical procedures; Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress; Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; Ability to educate patients and/or families and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment; Ability to maintain detailed electronic medical records; Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships; Good oral and written communication skills; Good computer skills, including MS Office, preferred.

Valid California Driver's license with insurable driving record.

Demonstrated person-centered approach and familiarity with trauma informed systems and restorative practices.
