Customs is a strategical area of Service Supply Chain Organization in Latin America covering 17 countries in Vestas Services operations. We support the business by securing timely availability and reliability on delivery of spare parts, main components, and tools. We are now looking for a Customs position to be in charge to improve our service level related to the regulatory permits to import materials in the region.

Responsibilities:

Responsible to obtain regulatory permits for the business to operate in Latin America countries, such sanitary, chemical, environmental and other permits

This professional should be equipped with a specialized set of skills and knowledge that enables to navigate the complex landscape of non-trade specific regulations

Understanding and obtaining regulatory permits is crucial to ensure that the import process is smooth and compliant with all local and international regulations. Each country in Latin America may have different specific requirements based on local laws and the specific nature of the parts being imported, so detailed local knowledge is essential.

To Vestas be able to effectively coordinate the importation of spare parts for wind turbines, this professional should possess a refined set of competencies tailored to the specific regulatory and operational challenges presented by the wind sector. The essential competencies based on the types of permits and regulatory requirements involved in importing wind turbine parts are:

a) Broad Knowledge of Trade and Customs Regulations: Customs and Import Compliance: Proficiency in navigating customs regulations, obtaining material related import licenses and certifications, and managing specific import authorizations for controlled goods.

b) Technical Standards and Personal Safety Compliance: Quality conformity: Knowledge of international and national conformity requirements, ensuring parts meet all required conformity criteria to be imported in the region. Electrical, Mechanical and Personal Safety Standards: Expertise in certifications that ensure the safety and reliability of electrical and mechanical components and personal protection equipment (PPE).

c) Energy Sector Regulations: Renewable Energy Legislation: Familiarity with laws and policies that govern renewable energy, ensuring compliance and taking advantage of potential incentives.

d) Environmental Regulatory Compliance: Environmental permits: Skills in conducting or overseeing environmental permits required to import materials, engaging with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits.

Documentation and Record-Keeping: Detailed Documentation: Skilled in the creation and upkeep of comprehensive records essential for importation processes, encompassing compliance reports, safety data sheets, certificates of conformity, environmental permits, and related materials.

Record Accuracy and Integrity: Ensuring all records and documents reflect accurate and up-to-date information to avoid legal or regulatory penalties.

Permitting Matrix: Elaborate and maintain an overall regulatory permitting matrix, ensuring all permits and certificates are kept valid in the region, avoiding disruptions in the operations.

Qualifications:

Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Production Engineering, Operations Management or General Business with regulatory background

Experience in a similar role

Experience role within Regulatory / Customs areas

Fluency in English and Spanish
