Vestas Power Solutions is the R&D function of Vestas. Through innovation, development and continuous improvement we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. Within Vestas Power Solution business unit, the department Control Hardware Module is responsible for the design and development of Low Voltage control panels and the control system across various sections of Wind Turbine. Control Hardware module is inclusive of several submodules explicit to each sections of Wind Turbine.

You will be part of the Hub and Tower Power Distribution submodule, this submodule is responsible for the design, development and Integration of LV control panels to facilitate the auxiliary power distribution to the specific sections. You will create the design solution that are modular by utilizing the techniques of system engineering and simulations to build the new wind turbines smarter, efficient and more robust, thereby shaping the future of renewable energy.

Responsibilities

Responsible that work performed across projects is in accordance with best practice

Align requirements, documentations, simulations, certifications, verifications etc. between different projects and if possible future projects

Responsible that relevant design guidelines are in place and up to date

Align & improve design guidelines, Review & signoff of design documents within the functional area

Quality responsible for the functions within functional area & Collaborate with Quality to secure LPF split-out

Responsible for different functions that have the expected quality (LPF, Downtime, Service cost/visits, etc.)

Follow up on performance reports on new product

Continuously (~monthly) monitor fleet performance and report to SFL if below expected

Continuous monitoring of CIM cases and collaboration with CIM organization

Signoff on CIM case root causes together with SFL

Accountable for capturing root cause in DFMEA

Discuss ideas with SFL on how to improve monitoring of the different areas within functional area

Support in the formulation of technology projects proposals within functional area

Support SFL to have a list of cluster/ technology/ module project proposals including business drivers

Support MTL and TL with Direct Product Cost overview, including change management and cost impact/ cost out idea generation

Drive definition of technology strategy within functional area

Review Change Management requirements.

Qualifications

Master's / Bachelor's in electrical / Similar engineering specialization

Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, in electrical system design

Experience within wind/ any Electrical Industry will be preferred

Hands on experience on tools like E-plan, Creo view and Windchill (ETAP - would be an added advantage)

Experience on handling ECM (engineering change management) along the product life cycle

Knowledge on International standards such as IEC, UL, etc., preferably IEC 60204-1 Machine directive

Basic knowledge on EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) design and testing requirements

Experience in product development process with knowledge of complete design and life cycle management

Experience in stakeholder management spanning full value chain

Competencies

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks on time

Have good communication skills - fluent in both verbal and written English

Experience with high-paced cross-functional and cross-cultural teams is beneficial
